Municipal Protection from Flooding.<\/strong><\/h1>\n<\/div><\/div>SHeavy rain alliance between EDAG Group, SPEKTER GmbH and Telekom IoT enables cities and municipalities to provide concrete protection for citizens<\/strong><\/p>\nFulda\/Herzogenaurach\/Cologne \u2013 Although there is no way of preventing the increase in heavy rainfall events, the impact of flash flooding can be minimized: By gaining time as a result of early alerts supplied by the Heavy Rain Early Warning system\u00ae. With funding from the “Starke Heimat Hessen” program, the EDAG Group and SPEKTER GmbH have already put Germany’s first inter-municipal heavy rainfall early warning system\u00ae into operation throughout the entire Fulda region. The solution helps to gain time that can be used to protect the community from the threat of flash floods, and with 24\/7 real-time monitoring, relieves some of the strain on municipal and regional officials.
\nThe successful cooperation between the EDAG Group and SPEKTER GmbH has now been confirmed with a cooperation agreement signed by Dirk Keller (CEO of EDAG Production Solutions) and Reinhard Brodrecht (Managing Director of SPEKTER GmbH) in July.
\nThis means that other towns and cities in Hesse will now have the opportunity to use this fully integrated solution of the Heavy Rain Early Warning System\u00ae – in the form of project consulting but also the actual commissioning of the system, including maintenance and support.<\/p>\n
In the Heavy Rain Early Warning System\u00ae, the EDAG Group and SPEKTER GmbH have combined competencies from heavy rain simulations, real-time measurement with IoT sensors, meteorology, hydrology and AI cloud services into an easy-to-use solution for rural districts, municipalities and citizens:
\nThe AI solution recognizes exactly where risks exist and, in the event of imminent danger, alerts the people responsible, the emergency services and citizens via web, app or text; by means of personal phone call If the highest risk level is reached.<\/p>\n
The reliable radio data transmission from the sensor via the cloud to the stakeholders from district and municipal authorities uses Telekom’s IoT. For the first time ever in Germany, SPEKTER GmbH, the EDAG Group and Telekom IoT have effected the direct data transmission of the water level and channel sensors via the cloud to the end user in Fulda. The innovative and reliable radio data solution is to be presented at the Digital X in Cologne on September 20 and 21, and at the EDAG Tech Summit in Frankfurt on November 21 and 22.<\/p>\n
